| Primary Care Primary care is the care provided by the health team as a first contact and continuing care for patient with any undiagnosed symptom, or health concern. Primary care includes health promotion, disease pre- vention, health maintenance, counseling, patient treatment of acute and chronic illnesses. The primary care physician will refer patients to a specialist as needed. CCFHS is proud of the primary care we offer. Getting an appointment with a primary care physician (PCP) can take weeks because there is a shortage of PCPs, due in part to medical students flocking to higher-paying specialist fields. Fortunately, there are alternatives, such as, physician assistants and nurse practitioners who can fill in for PCPs. CCFHS works hand in hand with AVH to provide continuing seamless health coverage.
